Rishabh Pant returns as India announces strong first Test squad against Bangladesh

Rishabh Pant makes his return to the Test squad for the first time since 2023 as India announced a strong 16-member team for the Chennai Test against Bangladesh.
Uncapped left-arm pacer Yash Dayal is also included in the squad, which will be captained by Rohit Sharma.
In addition to Pant, current wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel remains in the squad, along with KL Rahul, who has previously kept wickets as well.
The spin attack features Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, and Axar Patel. The middle order includes Sarfaraz Khan, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul, with Shreyas Iyer missing out.
Jasprit Bumrah leads the pace attack, supported by Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, who impressed in the home series against England. Dayal brings a left-arm option to the pace lineup.
