Rahul Dravid is set to rejoin the Rajasthan Royals (RR) as head coach for the 2025 IPL season after his tenure as India's coach concluded with their victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup this June.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Dravid has recently signed a contract with the franchise and has already begun discussions about player retentions in preparation for the upcoming mega auction.
Dravid shares a strong working relationship with RR's captain, Sanju Samson, who rose through the under-19 ranks under Dravid's guidance.
Dravid is no stranger to RR, having captained the team in the 2012 and 2013 IPL seasons and served as team director and mentor in 2014 and 2015.
He later moved to Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2016 before becoming the head of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru in 2019. In 2021, Dravid was appointed head coach of the Indian men's team, a role he held for three years, culminating in their first ICC title in 11 years.
