In the current Test Championship cycle, Bangladesh's team has already won three out of six matches. Among these victories, they defeated New Zealand at home and secured two wins on Pakistan's soil. If Bangladesh didn’t face whitewash against Sri Lanka at home, Najmul Hossain Shanto's team could have been in an even better position.
In the first cycle of the Test Championship, Bangladesh managed to secure just one victory as well as in the second cycle with the historic victory against New Zealand on their home soil.
With three victories in the current Test Championship, Bangladesh has risen to fourth place on the table with 33 points. England, having played 15 matches and won 8, has accumulated more points, standing at five with 81 points. However, in terms of win-loss percentage points, Bangladesh is ahead of England.
Bangladesh still has six matches remaining in this Test Championship cycle. In September, they will travel to India for a two-Test series. S
outh Africa is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in October, followed by a tour of the West Indies in December, which will conclude Bangladesh's third phase of the Test cycle.
On Tuesday, the ICC announced that the final of this Test Championship cycle will take place from June 11-15 at Lord's, with a reserve day included. India currently tops the table, followed by Australia in second place, and New Zealand in third.
