Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) vowed to stand firmly with the affected communities, acknowledging their responsibility to contribute during national emergencies.
“Our thoughts are with all those affected by the current floods. The Bangladesh Cricket Board is committed to supporting our fellow citizens during this difficult time. We are taking immediate steps to provide aid and relief, and we stand ready to assist in any way possible to help our nation recover and rebuild,” BCB President Faruque Ahmed said.
“The BCB remains dedicated to supporting the country through this challenging period and will continue to coordinate efforts to deliver necessary assistance. We call upon everyone to come together and join this effort,” he added.
Heavy rainfall over several days has led to severe flooding in various low-lying areas of the country including Feni, Comilla, and Noakhali, prompting rescue efforts to evacuate affected communities.
Due to continuous rain, water clogged these districts through breaches in the flood control dams.
The army and navy have been deployed, with speedboats and helicopters rescuing those stranded by swollen rivers.
