Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, the Youth and Sports Adviser, made his inaugural visit to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) headquarters on Monday.
During the visit, he met with officials, staff, and cricketers, and also held a discussion with former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal. This was his first trip to the BCB office since his appointment on August 8.
"Our Youth and Sports adviser has visited our office today. He saw the board facilities in person. From what I understood, he has some plans as well. He might also visit the other federations in the coming days." said BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
Tamim, who has not played for Bangladesh since being dropped from the 2019 World Cup squad, made a return to the BCB after several months, and was seen in conversation with Asif Mahmud.
There is curiosity about the details of their discussion, but Nizamuddin was unable to provide any specifics on the matter.
"I can say that there was no specific discussion with anyone. The adviser spoke with several people in the BCB who shared their experiences. I don't know in what capacity he [Tamim] came here. The adviser was here and he spoke with him. I saw him with the adviser, apart from that I don't know anything about it," he said.
Apart from seeing the infrastructure facilities of the stadium, the advisor also spoke to the Bangladesh women's cricket team practicing for the World Cup.
After visiting the facilities, the sports adviser informed about the overall situation in an exchange meeting with the BCB officials. BCB's chief executive officer and other board officials were present in the meeting.
