Bangladesh HP suffered an eight-wicket thrashing against Adelaide Strikers in the ongoing Top End Series at the DXC Arena on Wednesday.

Hapless Bangladesh bowlers failed to restrict Jake Winter from scoring an unbeaten 82 which guided Adelaide to chase down the modest target of 148 runs in 17.4 overs.

Bangladesh made a miserable start after being invited to bat first as they lost the top-order batters in four overs, slipping to 23-3. Jishan looked auspicious but was trapped in LBW off Mcfayden, and departed for 26 runs off 21 deliveries.

Shamim Hossain top-scored with 42 in 32 balls which featured three boundaries and a solitary six and Akbar Ali contributed 36 runs which helped them to reach a decent total. Mahfuzur Rabby played a brute 16 off 7 striking three boundaries.

Bangladesh bowler Ripon Mondol initiated a good start by removing opener Josh Kann for naught in the first over. However, Adelaide's chase was fuelled by a swashbuckling knock from Winter (82), backed by Noah Mcfayden who scored 38 off 32 deliveries.

Abu Haider Rony brought a late breakthrough by dismissing Noah, ending the 83-run stand. Then, Winter joined hands with Hamish Case and added another partnership of 64 runs. Case scored an unbeaten 23 runs.
