Shoriful returns home early from LPL due to illness

Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam returned home from Sri Lanka on Thursday due to illness and will miss the knockout phase of the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL).
Shoriful, who played for the Kandy Falcons this season, featured in five matches, taking four wickets with an economy rate of 11.61 and an average of 37.75.
He was excluded from the team for Kandy's last league game against Dambulla Sixers on July 14, which Kandy won by 54 runs, securing a spot in the playoffs.
Kandy is set to face Colombo Strikers in the eliminator at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo tonight at 8:00 pm Bangladesh time.
However, Shoriful could fly to Canada on July 23 to participate in the Global T20 Canada, starting on July 25.
The 23-year-old will play for Bangla Tigers Mississauga alongside Shakib Al Hasan, while Mohammad Saifuddin and Rishad Hossain will represent Montreal Tigers and Toronto Nationals respectively.
