The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a revised schedule for their tour to Sri Lanka, starting on 13 July.

India will play three T20Is and an equal number of ODI matches in the upcoming series. The matches have been pushed back by a day and the tour will now start on July 27, instead of July 26.

It is expected that Hardik Pandya will take over from Rohit Sharma who recently retired from the T20I format.

Since 2021, this is going to be India’s first bilateral tour to Sri Lanka. The last time India set foot in the islands saw Rahul Dravid stepping up as the interim coach of the side while Ravi Shastri was still dealing with the main team.

Shikhar Dhawan was the captain of the Indian team that played in Sri Lanka while the first string Indian cricket team was in England for the Test series.
