Bangladesh's young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib set a remarkable record by delivering the highest number of dot balls in a single T20 World Cup match.
During the Tigers' Group D clash against Nepal in Kingstown today, Sakib bowled 21 dot balls across his four overs, conceding just seven runs and taking four crucial wickets, significantly hindering Nepal's chase of a 107-run target.
Sakib's achievement surpasses the previous record held by South Africa's Ottneil Baartman and New Zealand's Trent Boult, who each bowled 20 dot balls in their respective matches against Sri Lanka and Uganda in this World Cup.
In addition to his impressive dot ball count, Sakib conceded only one boundary and bowled one wide.
His final figures of four wickets for seven runs in four overs, including two maidens, are now the second-best bowling performance by a Bangladeshi in T20 World Cups, following Mustafizur Rahman's five for 22 against New Zealand in the 2016 T20 World Cup.
