Mumbai wins a thriller against Punjab

Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Punjab Kings by nine runs in an Indian Premier League match in Mullanpur on Thursday.


Ashutosh Sharma's impressive performance with a 28-ball 61 was not enough for PBKS to chase the challenging target of 193.

Shashank Singh also contributed with 41 off 25 balls, but PBKS were bowled out for 183 in 19.1 overs.


Suryakumar Yadav earlier scored 78 off 53 balls as Mumbai Indians scored 192/7 in 20 overs batting first.


Suryakumar shared an 81-run stand with Rohit Sharma for the second wicket which came in just 57 balls. Then came a 49-run partnership with Tilak Varma off 28 balls.


Rohit fell on 36 off 25 while Tilak stayed unbeaten on 34 off 18.
