Despite a remarkable feat by left-arm pacer Fariha Trishna, who claimed a record hattrick, Bangladesh faced a 58-run defeat against the six-time T20 world champions Australia in the second T20I held in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Trishna's stellar performance marked her second hattrick of her budding career, making her only the third player in Women's T20Is to achieve such a remarkable feat.
Despite her efforts, Australia managed to post a competitive total of 161 for eight at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Georgia Wareham top-scored with 57 runs in 30 balls hitting ten boundaries and Grace Harris contributed with 34-ball 47.
Ellyse Perry played a knock of 29 runs in 22 balls with three boundaries in the middle to set a total of 161-8 in the accumulated overs.
Trishna scalped the wickets of Ellyse Perry, Sophie Molinuex, and Beth Mooney off the final three deliveries of Australia's innings as she finished her figure with four for 19 in four overs.
In reply, Bangladesh managed 103 runs losing nine wickets in 20 overs, with opener Dilara Akter scoring a team-high 27.
Bangladesh had lost the first match of the three-match series by 10 wickets.
