Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced a 17-member squad for Sri Lanka’s upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh.
The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board has announced that Charith Asalanka will assume the role of 'Acting Captain' for the initial two matches of the upcoming three-match series.
This decision comes in light of Wanindu Hasaranga's recent suspension due to a breach of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) code of conduct during the third T20 match against Afghanistan.
Despite Pathum Nissanka being initially included in the squad, he will not be joining the team for the tour as he continues his recovery from an injury sustained during Afghanistan's recent tour of Sri Lanka.
The series against Bangladesh is scheduled to commence on March 4th, kicking off with a three-match T20 series, followed by a three-match ODI series and concluding with two Test matches.
