Khulna defeated Dhaka to end their winless streak

Khulna Tigers got back to winning track with a five-wicket win against Durdanto Dhaka in match 33 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.
Left-handed batter Afif Hossain slammed a 21-ball 43 featuring two fours and four maximums steering the side to chase down a mediocre target of 129 runs with 28 balls to spare.
Chasing the target Khulna lost their captain Anamul Haque Bijoy for naught in the first delivery by Shoriful Islam and another opener Evin Lewis for 4 runs in the third over.
Then Parvez Hossain Emon and Shai Hope added a 49-run partnership that steadied their innings despite early setbacks.
Parvez smashed 40 off 30 with two 4' and four 6's and Hope played an anchoring innings of 32 off 28 aided by three boundaries and a solitary six while Afif was unbeaten on 43.
Shoriful and Taskin Ahmed picked up two wickets apiece for Dhaka who are placed in the bottom of the points table after losing straight ten matches in the tournament.
Earlier, electing to bat first Dhaka posted a meagre 128-7 in the allotted overs. Skipper Mosaddek Hossain scored 26 runs which was also the highest score from the Dhaka side.
Despite a promising start Alex Ross (25) and Irfan Sukkur (25) could only manage to play brief innings in the middle after being slumped to 27-3.
Following their dismissal, Mosaddek tried to rebuild but Mukidul Islam's back-to-back three scalps ripped down Dhaka's batting line-up. Besides, Wayne Parnell grabbed three wickets to trouble Dhaka.
