Left-arm spinner Sunzamul Islam has replaced Jawad Mohammad in the Sylhet Strikers squad for the ongoing 10th Bangladesh Premier League T20.

Jawad picked up a groin strain during a practice session in Sylhet as a result, Sunzamul was included as the replacement for the remainder of the tournament.

Sylhet are currently placed in the bottom of the points table after suffering five straight defeats in the ongoing tournament.

The 34-year-old cricketer is an experienced campaigner in first-class cricket, appeared in seven matches taking two wickets.

Meanwhile, skipper Mashrafe Mortaza has taken a break from BPL to fulfill his responsibilities as the Whip in Parliament.

He is expected to rejoin the Strikers later in the season, if he can align with his political commitments and schedule.
