West Indies rising star Shamar Joseph seals PSL deal

West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph's outstanding performance against Australia at the Gabba last Sunday has secured him a contract with the Pakistan Super League (PSL), as Peshawar Zalmi has enlisted him.
He is anticipated to join the franchise from the beginning and stay with them throughout the entire tournament.
Although Zalmi initially announced Shamar Joseph as a partial replacement for England fast bowler Gus Atkinson, reliable sources indicate that Joseph will continue with Zalmi for the entire tournament, even after Atkinson becomes available.
Currently, Atkinson is part of the England Test squad in India for the ongoing five-match series until March 11, making him unavailable for all matches except the playoff games.
The decision to sign Joseph was not made during the replacement and supplementary draft held earlier today. Initially, Zalmi had announced the replacement of Afghan leg-spinner Noor Ahmed, who was also unavailable, with Atkinson for the entire tournament.
However, Atkinson's current commitment to the national side in India has made that arrangement impossible. Subsequently, Zalmi took to social media to announce that Shamar Joseph would be replacing Atkinson instead.
The PSL starts on February 17 at the Gaddafi Stadium, and runs till March 18, with the final at the National Stadium in Karachi.
