Bijoy leads as Khulna hammer Dhaka by 10 wickets

Anamul Haque Bijoy led from the front as Khulna Tigers thrashed Durdanto Dhaka by a massive 10 wickets in the ongoing BPL Match-14 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Bijoy and Evin Lewis got off to a flying start in their pursuit of 131 runs, as they took only 14.4 overs to reach the target.
The duo yielded 66 runs in the first powerplay, swashbuckling batter Lewis played a blistering innings of 26 runs off 13 balls before leaving the field due to a side strain.
Afif came to the crease when Khulna were 50-0, Bijoy registered his second half-century and top-scored with 58 runs in 48 balls hitting four boundaries and a couple of sixes and Afif Hossain contributed 37 runs off 27 deliveries in their unbeaten 81-stand.
The hapless bowlers from Dhaka's side remained wicket-less.
Earlier, Despite a solid start from the openers Mohammad Naim and Saim Ayub, Dhaka's innings took a dramatic turn following the first wicket on 75-1.
Naim was aggressive with the willow fell prey to Afif Hossain when he tried to play a delivery outside stump but ended up with a catch to the fielder, he departed on 41 off 21 which featured a single boundary and three sixes.
Saim also gave away his wicket to Shanaka in the next over after a gritty knock of 35 off 37 which conveyed a crack in Dhaka's innings. Dhaka lost their momentum and lost seven more wickets in quick succession.
Pacer Mukidul Islam struck twice to return experienced Gulbadin Naib (3) and SM Meherob (3) in the same over.
Alex Ross tried to rebuild their innings with Arafat Sunny and played brief innings of 21 and 15 runs respectively in the middle.
Mohammad Nawaz spun a web to demolish Dhaka's recovery and quickly took three wickets and eventually Dhaka managed to muster 130 runs.
Apart from Nawaz and Mukidul, Mohammad Wasim Jr also picked up two wickets.
