Sylhet lost again as Chattogram win to go top

Chattogram Challengers secured a dominating win to go top of the table as they beat Sylhet Strikers by eight-wicket in the 13th match of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Chasing a target of 138, Chattogram comfortably reached 138/2 in 17.4 overs, with 14 balls to spare.
Bangladeshi young opener Tanzid Hasan's half-century, scoring 50 off 40 balls, set the tone for the successful run chase.
New Zealand wicketkeeper batter Tom Bruce, who came to the XI for last game man of the match Curtis Campher, remained unbeaten with a well-crafted 51 off 44 balls, steering his team to victory.
Earlier, Sylhet, led by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, after completing a hat-trick of losses came to the ground to clinch their first win. However, the batters of the team couldn't shine in the match against Chittagong
The home ground at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium did not prove favorable for Sylhet as they lost their first wicket with only 7 runs on the board as Mohammad Mithun scored 1 run off 4 balls.
Soon after, Najmul Hossain Shanto (5) returned to the pavilion with just 1 run added to the team score.
Then, Zakir Hasan and Harry Tector tried to stabilize the innings, forming a partnership of 57 runs. However, Zakir got out after scoring 31 runs off 26 balls before Tector departed after contributing 45 runs from 42 balls.
Zimbabwe batter Ryan Burl joined Tector but was dismissed after scoring 34 runs off 29 balls, and Afif Hossain made an unbeaten contribution of 17 runs off 12 balls.
In the end, Sylhet posted a total of 137 runs in their innings. Bilal Khan took three wickets for 24 runs in his four overs for Chittagong, while Nihad Uzzaman took one wicket.
