Mahedi spins Rangpur's win over Dhaka

Rangpur Riders registered a commanding 79-run win over Durdanto Dhaka in the Match-12 of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
Dhaka was stunned by the Rangpur Riders's bowling attack, being bundled on 104 runs while chasing a target of 184 runs.
Mahedi spun a web in dismantling Dhaka's batting line up, taking three wickets while Azmatullah Omarzai and Hasan Mahmud grabbed two wickets apiece.
BPL debutant Alex Ross shone with 35-ball 51 striking seven boundaries and a maximum, which also stands as the highest score for Dhaka.
New recruit Saim Ayub and Mosaddek Hossain were the only batsmen to reach double digits, playing brief innings of 17 and 15 runs, respectively.
Batting first, Brandon King opened the innings with a boundary off Taskin Ahmed, he continued his aggressive batting, however, Taskin got the better of him, dismissing King for 20 runs off 13 balls.
Arafat Sunny then scalped the wicket of Rony Talukdar, who scored 11 runs off 7 balls.
Babar Azam, and Nurul Hossain Sohan then steadied the innings until Arafat Sunny broke their partnership by dismissing Sohan for 26 runs and then Nabi in the same over.
Babar, however, held one end and scored a half-century off 41 balls before getting dismissed on 62 runs, he smashed five 4's and a six.
Omarzai played a cameo innings of 32 off 15 balls before getting dismissed by Shoriful. Shamim Hossain (17) and Mahedi (8) helped Rangpur finish at 183 for the loss of 8 wickets. Shakib did not bat since he is struggling with eye problem.
