The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the men's T20I team of the year on Monday, 22 January. India batter Suryakumar Yadav was named the captain of the side.
Alpesh Ramjani from Uganda got a much-deserved pick for taking his team through to the T20 World Cup 2024.
It was a stunning year for Ugandan cricket, topped off with qualification for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, with Ramjani’s work with ball and bat pivotal in their 2023 push.
Ramjani led the world in T20I wickets for the year (55 at an economy of just 4.77) across 30 matches, and was a thorn in the side for opposition bowling attacks, scoring 449 runs at 28.06 (strike rate 132) down the order.
Jaiswal and Phil Salt are the openers, while Nicholas Pooran, Suryakumar and Mark Chapman are placed in the top-order.
Sikandar Raza is the all-rounder and Mark Adair, Ravi Bishnoi, Richard Ngarava and Arshdeep Singh complete the bowling line-up.
