Bangladesh former captain Tamim Iqbal has arranged 15 ‘CA brand’ bats for the U-19 Asia Cup-winning team ahead of the U-19 World Cup.
The young Tigers had requested high-quality bats before the Asia Cup tournament. After finding out about their request, Tamim used his long-standing sponsorship with the company to arrange for the bats with the help of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The left-handed opener contacted board president Nazmul Hasan Papon and chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury on his own. When the board gave the green signal, Tamim arranged bats for 15 players.
The young cricketers are currently practicing in Mirpur ahead of the U-19 World Cup. Tamim handed the bats to the young cricketers on Friday morning during practice.
After the training camp in Mirpur, the team will fly to South Africa on January 7.
The team is scheduled to play a warm-up match against Zimbabwe. Bangladesh will start the World Cup mission with a match against India. Following that they face Ireland and USA.
