The year in women's cricket for Bangladesh has been like a dream as they drew against India in a Test match at home, won the One Day International (ODI) and T20 series against Pakistan. Even outside the country, Nigar Sultana-led team has achieved success. They fought admirably against South Africa in South Africa, leaving a lasting impression.

In both the T20 and ODI series, there was a possibility of winning the series but they couldn't clinch the series until the end. Despite losing to Proteas, Tigresses won an ODI match for the first time before returning home today [Monday].

The media had limited coverage for the women at the airport. Joty conveyed her message, stating that they don't have any complaints about the media's coverage, as their focus is on playing cricket. Joty believes their job is to play cricket, and that's where they have their attention.

“Our job is to play cricket, and we want to focus on that. Whether the media has covered us or not, why they didn't come, we have no complaints because that is not our job. Therefore, we want to focus on what is our job.” Joty said at the airport.

Bangladesh's women started the series against South Africa on a high note, winning the first match. The second match was washed out due to rain, providing an opportunity for Bangladesh to win the series.

However, in the last match against Proteas, they couldn't win and the series ended 1-1.

Despite getting opportunities in the ODIs, Bangladesh women couldn't win the last two matches to clinch the series. Even though they didn't win the series, Joty is pleased with the performance of the women, especially the batters. Joty believes that the South Africa tour has been beneficial for the batters.

“There was a big opportunity for us. However, I am not disappointed with the team's performance because we won against them on South African soil. In the ODIs, we scored more than 200 runs in consecutive matches, which is a significant achievement for the team,”

“I have always seen that questions arise about our batting, why we are not scoring runs or why the batters are not in good form. According to me, the batters have achieved a lot on this tour."
