Bangladesh former captain Tamim Iqbal urged the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to exclude his name from the upcoming central contact, as stated by cricket operations committee chairman Jala Yunus.
Tamim has been away from the cricket scene since the Afghanistan series due to injuries, he also missed the World Cup.
Jalal said the board will hold a meeting with the board president Nazmul Hasan Papon and they will show a draft of cricketers to the president.
“The selectors held a meeting on it. I also had a meeting, later it will be discussed with the board. A draft has been done. Hopefully, we will prepare the list and present to the board on December 31. Before that, it should be given to the honorable president. He will watch a bit and then we will release it on the board,” said Jalal in the media.
He also noted the left-handed batter Tamim wanted his name to be removed from the list for now and they will hold a meeting regarding it later.
“The matter with Tamim is that he spoke to the selectors, spoke to the chief selector and also spoke to me. You know there is a meeting with the board president next month,” he said.
“It will be after the election. He wanted to discuss his future plans. He has a plan of his own, so let's not keep him under contract. He wants not to put his name in the contract list now, after sitting down and finalizing the plan he will let us know what he is going to do,” he added.
