Mitchell Johnson sacked over David Warner column

Former Australia pacer Mitchell Johnson was sacked from Cricket Australia from speaking in two public functions for his negative remarks against veteran David Warner.
The appearances were cancelled due to Cricket Australia’s view that Johnson had taken his criticisms of Warner too far in an explosive column for The West Australian in early December.
“Mitchell is one of Australia’s most celebrated bowlers, but we felt on this occasion it was in everyone’s best interests that he was not the guest speaker at the CA functions,’’ a CA spokesman told News Corp on Tuesday.
Former Australian batsman Michael Hussey was reportedly roped in as replacement to Johnson.
It had also been reported that Johnson had lost his Triple M commentary gig prior to the Perth Test because of his newspaper comments.
Meanwhile, Warner was quiet about the attack, but shushed critics with a century in the first Test.
