India's Bangladesh tour in August is uncertain

Bangladesh stand-in captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was confident and said his side will be keen to win the white-ball series against New Zealand.

The Tiger's recent win in the warm-up match against the New Zealand XI boosted their confidence for the upcoming three-match ODI series starting on December 17.

"I think the boys played some really good cricket [in the warm-up game]. The wicket was very good. Preparation wise, everyone did their job. New Zealand [XI] played well as well. It was a good practice match. Boys are really confident about the series,” said Shanto.

Shanto drew inspiration from the Mount Maunganui Test win last year however, they never won any limited-over match against the Kiwis.

Bangladesh has lost 16 consecutive ODIs in New Zealand, but they hope to break the streak and recreate their successful last tour.

"As a team, we look to win this series, to be honest. We have a very good team. We won one Test match here last year. If we can win the [ODI] series, it will be great for us," Shanto said.
