Bangladesh batter Imrul Kayes expressed his disappointment with the process of announcing the World Cup squad. He questioned why the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had waited until the last moment to announce the squad, while other countries had already announced their teams much earlier.
According to this cricketer, a country's squad should ideally be announced at least 15 to 30 days before the start of the World Cup. In that case, so that the players can mentally prepare themselves for the tournament.

“As you can see, every country announced their team a month or 15-20 days before the World Cup. Why can't we just do it? I believe that if a boy knows a month before the World Cup that he would be playing in the World Cup, he can prepare accordingly," Imrul said in a live session with Cricfrenzy.
Joty: Improvements are showing now
6 hrs agoImrul said he had experienced this first-hand in 2019 when he was assured that he was part of the World Cup team.
In the previous World Cup, openers Tamim Iqbal, Litton Das, and Soumya Sarkar were the other openers who went with the team as per the choice of coach and captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza..
Imrul reckoned that it was a huge setback for him, and his dreams of playing in the World Cup were shattered.
"In 2019, I was assured that I was going to the World Cup. That's how I set my vision for the World Cup. After the announcement of the team, I got to know that I was not included in the team. All my dreams were shattered. I am not speaking for myself, but for all,” he added.
