Jasprit Bumrah left an indelible mark on his return to international cricket as India beat Ireland by two runs via DLS method to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series in Dublin on Friday.
India were 47 for 2 in 6.5 overs in chase of 140 runs when rain interrupted the game and eventually forced it to be called off.
The Irish batting order faced a daunting setback, finding themselves at a precarious 59/6. However, the tide turned as Barry McCarthy and Curtis Campher spearheaded a resilient resurgence, forging a gritty partnership that yielded 57 runs off 44 balls for the seventh wicket.

Campher's contribution came to a valiant end with a score of 39 off 33 balls, while McCarthy continued the onslaught, concluding the innings with an unbeaten 51 off 33 balls, including a decisive six.
