In the opening T20I of the series against UAE in Dubai, Tim Seifert's blazing fifty and Tim Southee's fifer helped New Zealand to victory. The Kiwis won by 19 runs.
Even though UAE lost, they gave New Zealand a good fright.

When Aryansh Sharma started running hard, they were once well ahead of the pursuit. To stop the UAE in their tracks, James Neesham entered the attack and took two wickets, including Aryansh.
With two wickets in two overs, Southee gave the visitors a terrific start. However, Aryansh made a brilliant counterattack en route to his debut fifty.
Southee eventually concluded with a five-wicket haul after returning to get Hameed. Santner, meanwhile, dismissed Asif with a superb return catch.
