Despite Shakib al Hasan's all-round brilliance Montriel Tigers suffered a 15-run defeat against Brampton Wolves in the ongoing Global T20 Canada 2023 at CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario.
Brampton restricted Tigers to 128-10 in 19.1 overs and successfully defended 144-run target.
Shakib was the highest run-getter (28) for Montreal, he smashed four boundaries and a six to play the innings while Dipendra Singh Airee also contributed with 28 runs.
Logan Van Beek scalped three wickets for Brampton Wolves.
Batting first, Brampton scored 143 runs in 19.5 overs with the help of Colin de Grandhomme's 40-ball 56, and Usman Khan's 21-ball 33 while Mark Chapman scored 21 runs.
Carlos Brathwaite and UAE left-arm spinner Aayan Afzal took four wickets each and Shakib took one wicket leaking 25 runs in four overs.
