Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Litton Das will lead Bangladesh in the upcoming one-off Test against Afghanistan in the absence of regular captain Shakib al Hasan, confirmed by BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon.
Shakib incurred a finger injury attempting a catch during the second One-Day International (ODI) against Ireland at Chelmsford, England.

During the 10th anniversary programme of the Bangladesh Cricket Supporters Association (BCSA) Papon confirmed it to media.

"Since Shakib is injured, the vice-captain will naturally lead in the absence of the regular skipper. As far as I know, Liton is the vice-captain of the Test side. I haven't heard anything about the issue," said Papon.
The Afghanistan series will be played in two phases. Following the lone Test, the visitors will head to India for a white-ball series before returning to Bangladesh to play the three-match ODI and two-match T20I series. So Shakib is likely to return in the T20Is.
