Bangladesh U-19 were thrashed by Afghanistan U-19 in the tri-nation series by seven wickets at Zayed Cricket Stadium, UAE.


Afghanistan chased down the below-par target of 76 runs in just 9.5 overs. Sohail Khan and Haroon Khan stitched an unbeaten 56 runs together to clinch the match with ease.

Afghanistan were in a bit of trouble when Bangladesh bowler Rohanat Borson scalped three quick wickets to perish the top order but it was not enough as they failed to break the formidable stand between Sohail and Haroon.

The duo remained unbeaten as Sohail scored 33 off 28 with six boundaries and a six and Haroon smashed 21 off 14.


Earlier, opting to bat first Bangladesh were bundled on 75 runs in 22.5 overs. Opener Ashikur Rahman Shibli and Wasi Siddique were the only batters to cross double digits. 


Afghanistan bowlers Bashir Ahmad picked up four-fer, Kamran Hotak took three and Kahlel Ahmed got a couple of wickets for Afghanistan.


Bangladesh are scheduled to play Sri Lanka on Monday. Each team will play the other two teams twice before the top two teams play for the title on March 30.
