BCB XI suffered a 77-run (D/L) defeat against Ireland in the first practice match at Sylhet Academy Ground, Sylhet on Wednesday.
Chasing 256 runs, BCB XI could reach 181 losing all wickets in 32.1 overs. Andy Mcbrine was the pick of the bowling for Ireland, having scalped three wickets and leaking 12 runs.
Bangladesh began their chase on a positive note despite Zakir Hasan departing early on 18 runs, last-minute addition Soumya Sarkar returned with a spirited form to hit 48 of 46 featuring seven 4's and two 6's.

However, the latter fell short of two runs to convert his knock to a half-century. Following the wicket of Soumya, Bangladesh lost momentum and never could bounce back from the downfall.

Earlier, Ireland posted 255-6 in the revised 40 over after being invited to bat first. Curtis Campher top-scored with 75 runs off 49 balls hitting seven boundaries and four sixes.
Rejaur Rahman and Rishaad picked up two wickets each while Soumya got one.
