Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to play for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier League (2023). 

Shakib was supposed to play for Mohammedan last season as well but by the time he was available for selection, the club was knocked out. They eventually released Shakib who later appeared for Legends of Rupganj. 

However, Shakib is likely to might miss a few games owing to national team commitments.

Mohammedan also roped in Imrul Kayes who played for Sheikh Jamal Dhandmondi Club in the last season, Mahmudullah Riyad, and Mohammad Ashraful, Rony Talukdar.

The upcoming DPL season will commence on March 15 and most of its matches will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur and at the BKSP grounds, with Fatullah Cricket Stadium in Narayanganj kept as an alternative venue.
