Rangpur Riders emerged as victorious against the table-toppers Sylhet Strikers in the ongoing BPL at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, on Saturday.


Rangpur chased down the 171-run target set by Sylhet with eight wickets and two overs in hand.


Rony Talukdar slammed 66 of 35 deliveries having struck eight 4's and three sixes with a strikerate of 188.57. Then Shoaib Malik played a stormy innings of 41 in 24 balls with four boundaries and a six which propelled the side to reach the port of the victory.

Opener Mohammad Naim scored 45 off 32 hitting six boundaries before getting axed by Reajur Rahman Raja. While Mohammad took another wicket to just narrow the margin of defeat.

Earlier, Towhid Hridoy smashed 85 to help Sylhet post 170-2 in 20 overs. Towhid hit 13 fours and two sixes to play the highest scoring knock.


While Mushfiqur Rahim contributed with a 35-ball 55 runs innings which featured five 4's and three sixes. 


Mehidi Hasan and Hasan Mahmud took one wicket each.
