Mahedi Hasan urges local players to step up as Rangpur target BPL final
2 Feb 25Mahedi Hasan of Rangpur Riders led his team to victory over Dhaka Dominators as Rangpur won by five wickets in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in Sylhet.
Rangpur successfully chased down Dhaka's 144 for five thanks in large part to Mahedi, who destroyed the bowlers with his 43-ball 72-run knock, smashing five sixes and six fours.
The all-rounder finished with figures of one for 13 runs while maintaining tight control from his end.

The right-handed batsman, however, was unable to save his team after being out by Al-Amin Hossain's lbw and Rangpur's victory was instead led by Pakistan's Mohammad Nawaz and Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai.

27 Mar 25Nawaz hit a six over mid-wicket to end the game while still unbeaten on 17 off 15 balls, and Omarzai was not out on 12.
Dhaka's batting woes earlier in the day persisted as their openers once more struggled.
Usman Ghani overcame the middle order's batting slump and scored an unbeaten 55-ball 73, hitting three sixes and seven fours as he led his side to 144. The middle order didn't offer much hope either as they struggled to get going.
