Veteran Tamim Iqbal became the first Bangladesh batsman to score 7000 T20 runs, he achieved the milestone during the ongoing BPL.
The 34-year-old batter took 243 matches to accomplish the landmark, he smashed a boundary off Farhad Reza to complete the 7000 runs during the fourth over of the match against Chattogram Challengers.

Tamim played a cautious 37-ball 44-run inning with four boundaries and a six to aid Sylhet Strikers to seal a 7-wicket win against Chattogram.

Tamim is also the highest run-scorer for Bangladesh in all three formats of the game. He is also the only Bangladesh batter to score an international hundred in this format.
Shakib al Hasan is in the second position with 6546 runs in 357 matches, Mahmudullah Riyad scored 5301 runs in 256 matches and Mushfiqur Rahim has 5130 in 230 matches.
