Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam stated that Bangladesh could have bowled India out on the first day if they had capitalized on three opportunities presented by the batters during the first innings of the first Test in Chattogram.
Taijul and Mehidy Hasan Miraz shared five wickets as Bangladesh hit back nicely to leave the day one of the first Test.
However, Nurul Hasan, the wicketkeeper, turned down a chance offered by Pujara on 12 when Ebadot Hossain found the edge.
Iyer was on 30 runs when he was dropped again by Nurul, though it was a difficult chance. He also survived on 67 when Ebadot dropped a simple catch off Mehidy Hasan at mid-wicket.

Iyer was miraculously survived being bowled by Ebadot on 77 when the bails failed to dislodge, leaving the hosts ruing their missed chances.
"I don't think we are in too much bad position considering the first day of a Test match. We are in good position. Maybe we could have been in a better position if the catches were taken,” Taijul said.
While the pitch at the ZACS tends to improve as the game progresses, Taijul said it was difficult to predict this wicket because it has offered turn since Day 1. He did, however, emphasize the importance of collaboration.
"In a lot of series, the wicket became good after each passing day. But here we are still not being able to predict as there is big turn and perhaps we will take some time. If we can build partnership with a focus we can do well in the series," Taijul said.
