India captain Rohit Sharma feels players like Litton Dass in the world’s biggest franchise league Indian Premier League (IPL). Ahead of the three match ODI series opener India skipper expressed his thoughts on Saturday in Mirpur.

Bangladesh T20 and Test captain Shakib al Hasan and pacer Mustafizur Rahman are regular faces in this extravaganza. This time there are six Bangladeshis in the IPL auction. It is known that apart from Shakib, there are Litton, Taskin Ahmed, Shariful Islam, Nasum Ahmed, Afif Hossain in the list. Mustafiz is already retained by his team Delhi Capitals.

Among the countries that have players in the IPL auction, only two countries have fewer players than Bangladesh—Namibia (5) and Scotland (2).

Rohit Sharma hammered a rapid 76 not out as Mumbai Indians trounced Chennai Super Kings by nine wickets in the IPL

“I hope... they will get a chance. They are a good team, good cricketers. They will definitely do well if they get a chance. IPL teams are yet to start planning. But I think they should get a chance,” when asked about getting a Bangladeshi player in the IPL auction.

Rohit thinks the series will be exciting, “I think the series will be exciting, as it always is. We have to play well to beat them. They will play competitive cricket. We are not thinking about series here. We are focusing one by one match.”

Bangladesh is not getting regular captain Tamim Iqbal in the entire series. Taskin Ahmed will not be in the first match. There are fears about getting him in the next matches of the series as well.

However, the Indian captain does not want to think about who is in the team or not.

“We do not think about the combination of the opponent. We want to play as an Indian team. Both of them have been doing well for Bangladesh for a long time. But it is also an opportunity for others” he added.
