Bangladesh Under-19 defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the first Youth T20 on Wednesday at the Multan Cricket Stadium, thanks to three wickets from pacer Tanveer Ahmed and an unbeaten 41 from Shihab James.
Choosing to bat, Bangladesh restricted Pakistan to 143 for eight, with Tanveer remaining the Young Tigers' leading wicket-taker.

Pakistan opener Shawaiz Irfan and top-order batter Tayyab Arif were both dismissed early by the right-arm pacer, giving the visitors a flying start. He later dismissed Muhammad Zeeshan to finish with three for 25 in three overs.

Bangladesh beat the competitive total with three balls to spare thanks to Shihab's unbeaten knock off 33 deliveries and another 38 from Mahfuzur Rahman.
Following the comprehensive victory, Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
After drawing the only four-day match on their tour of Pakistan, the Young Tigers won the three-match one-day series.
