Bangladesh national men’s team have returned Dhaka on Monday night after their T20 World Cup campaign in Australia.

However, skipper Shakib al Hasan took off for United State to see his family, while vice-captain Nurul Hasan Sohan and all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz have stayed in Australia for vacation.

Bangladesh's World Cup ended last Sunday with a loss to Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval.

Bangladesh had their most successful campaign on paper, with two wins against the Netherlands and Zimbabwe, but those victories came in the final few balls, with the Tigers pulling off great escapes on both occasions.

These two victories were achieved thanks to impressive bowling performances, but the batters had a disappointing campaign overall and failed to make a significant impact.

Bangladesh came close to pulling off a famous win against India in Adelaide but their batting collapsed in the face of tense moments and bottled the momentum, failing to score 85 off 54 balls with all ten wickets in hand.

Bangladesh captain Shakib also referred to their wins against the Netherlands and Zimbabwe as their previous best outcome in the main phase of this mega event was based on a win against West Indies in 2007.

"In terms of results, this is the best performance we had in T20 World Cups," said Shakib after the last game.
