Players' union calls for reform of 'chaotic' global cricket calendar

Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed has been roped into the Fortune Barishal's squad for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Monday. 

The franchise owner Mizanur Rahman confirmed the appointment of the Pakistani all-rounder to Cricfrenzy.

Fortune Barishal has already roped in Universe boss Chris Gayle with his countryman 'Jimbo' Rahkeem Cornwall and Afghanistan's Najibullah Zadran. Ace-allrounder Shakib al Hasan is set to lead the side. 

Iftikhar has scored 3500 runs with the bat and picked up 36 wickets in 183 T20s.

The 43-day-long BPL will get underway on January 5 next year with the grand finale scheduled for February 16.
