When the regular openers are not playing their part, Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz stood up for the Tigers for the opening spot. At least he is getting runs even if he does not make a storm with the bat. Miraz claimed that he is enjoying his time in the opening.
Prior to the tri-nation series, in a video message from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Miraz stated that everyone is supporting him in the opening role.
"After I got a chance to open, I am trying to play good cricket and I am enjoying it. Everyone is supporting me, this thing feels good. Whenever I am practicing, everyone is supporting me and everyone has a lot of faith in me. I am very confident myself. Now just waiting to play good cricket on the field," Miraz said.

Bangladesh to take on Pakistan on Friday in the triangular opener but there is no end of speculations about who will be Miraz’s partner in the match. Although, selectors have hinted about Nazmul Hossain Shanto to pair with him instead of Sabbir Rahman, who failed to impress in the Asia Cup and UAE T20 series.
Apart from those Miraz claimed that the preparation went well for the cricketers, "We have prepared very well. The three days we practiced, it was a very good practice. Bowlers bowled, batters batted. In two groups we had our practice and specific practice. I have done as much as is necessary. Particular, I batted and bowled as well,”
“The coaching staffs have helped us a lot. We didn't have an easy practice session here, because it's a bit cold here. Despite that, everyone adapted very well. It is a positive aspect for our team” he concluded.
