Due to political difficulties across borders, Pakistan and India have not played each other in Test cricket since 2007. According to the Daily Telegraph, England has now offered to host a neutral Test series between Pakistan and India in the future.

During the recent England T20I series in Pakistan, ECB vice chairman Martin Darlow met with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and offered England venues for a prospective three-match Test series in the future.

Both countries compete in ICC and Asian events on a regular basis. India may accept the proposal since playing Pakistan on neutral ground would be more politically palatable.

Meanwhile, the publication reported that PCB are not keen on playing India at the moment at a neutral venue but are grateful for the ECB's offer, which shows the growing relationship between the two boards.

It must be noted that Pakistan players are also barred from playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
