South Africa pacer Duanne Olivier has been ruled out of the three-match Test series against England with a grade 2 right hip flexor muscle injury, which begins on August 17. The injury occurred during South Africa's four-day tour game in Canterbury versus the England Lions.
South Africa has not announced a substitute for the pacer, and his absence will be a further setback for the visitors, who are also dealing with the ankle ailment of speed leader Kagiso Rabada. Rabada has been ruled out of the two-match T20I series against Ireland.

Giving an update on Olivier's injury, team doctor Hashendra Ramjee said, "Duanne presented with significant discomfort involving his right hip flexor muscle at the close of play on day three of the four-day tour match. After clinical assessment, he was referred for an MRI scan which revealed a grade 2 tear involving the right pectineus muscle.
"Due to the extent of the injury, he has been ruled out of the three-match Test series against England and will return home where he will commence his rehabilitation with the Gauteng Central Lions medical team."
The series will be of vital importance for the visitors, as they look to extend their lead at the top of the World Test Championship table. They will come up against an England side high on confidence, after their incredible series victory against New Zealand as well as a win in the fifth rescheduled Test against India.
The three Test matches will be played between 17 August to 12 September at Lord's, Old Trafford and The Oval.
