Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papom stated at the board's annual general meeting on Tuesday in Dhaka that the board is planning to establish regional cricket bodies.
For a long time, BCB attempted to establish regional cricket bodies, but the idea failed since there was no provision in BCB's constitution for the formation of regional cricket associations.
"We are all set to form regional cricket bodies. We hope we can finalize the guidelines soon," Papon told the reporter in a press briefing after the meeting.

Papon also said that the board needed to amend the constitution of the board to add a provision so that they can introduce the initiative to establish cricket's regional association.

"Currently, every cricket-related activity is controlled from Dhaka. But once we have the regional cricket bodies, every region will be able to decide what they need to do for the development of regional cricket," Papon added.
After the latest development, every division of Bangladesh will get a regional cricket body except Mymensingh which will still be a part of the Dhaka division.
However, no guidelines or framework for forming regional cricket bodies have been agreed.
The president of the BCB stated that the board will need some time to finalize a policy. BCB boss couldn't say for sure how long it would take.
