Shakib will play for Guyana Amazon Warriors as the replacement for South African left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi in the upcoming season.

"I would not hide this one- Shamzi will be leaving at some point in the tournament, and Shakib Al Hasan, another spinner, will join us and he brings batting, which will make the team stronger," Guyana Amazon Warriors Head Coach, Rayon Griffith had told the media.

Shakib had also featured for the Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs in the previous seasons.

CPL is set to begin from August 30 and will conclude on September 30.
