Bangladesh head coach Russel Domingo was pleased with Shakib al Hasan's turnaround to form but felt he could have played a bigger innings in the rain-washed first T20I against West Indies.

Shakib played a cameo innings of 29 off 15 balls, which featured two fours and an equal number of sixes. Shakib was dismissed after being edged to the keeper while trying to chase a googly from Hayden Walsh Jr.

"Shakib was positive. But Shakib got out in the wrong time. He knows that. We needed someone to get big scores. We need those in this format. We needed good partnerships, but as soon as partnerships were developing we lost wickets," said Domingo.

Bangladesh failed to capitalize on a good start as they went from 36 for one at one stage to being 105 for eight in 13 overs. Domingo believes that with some practice his side will put in a better performance in the second game.

"At 45 for two, we got a really good start, but then some really poor batting. I'm sure we'll be better in the next game; guys have had a long boat trip, no practice yesterday with the weather being disruptive. I'm sure we'll see an improved performance in the second match," he added.
