Trent Boult, regarded as one of the best fast bowlers in the world at the present, made history on the fifth day of the ongoing second Test match between New Zealand and England at Trent Bridge.
The Kiwi bowler broke Muttiah Muralitharan's long-standing record of scoring the most runs by a number 11 batter in Test cricket history during New Zealand's second innings in the ongoing match.
“I’ve had my eye on this record for 10 and a half years now” said Boult after achieving the milestone.
In just 79 Test innings, Boult has accumulated 640 runs at the number 11 position. Muralitharan, who resigned from red-ball cricket in 2010, had 623 runs in 98 innings when he retired in 2010.

With 618 runs in the no. 11 slot, England pacer James Anderson is closing in on the Sri Lankan legend's total.

Glenn McGrath (603) and Courtney Walsh (553) are ranked fourth and fifth on the same list, respectively.
In 77 Tests, Boult has 311 wickets at an average of 27.33. When Boult bowls, he's a joy to see, but when he's holding the bat, he's a rib-tickler. Boult's stay at the crease is all entertainment, from a comical stance to strange noises.
