The Emirates Cricket Board has announced that the inaugural International League T20 League (ILT20) would take place from January 6 to February 12, 2023. "International League T20," or "ILT20," will be the name of the new league.
The six-team franchise-style League will be played over a 34-match calendar at world-class stadiums in the United Arab Emirates. The first event is slated to take place between January 6th and February 12th, 2023.

The tournament will also provide a valuable platform for Emirates Cricket to take developing their local talent to a higher level, where UAE-based players currently integrated in the Board’s program, as well as those identified by the High Performance Coaching and Selection Committee teams, will be given the opportunity to train and play alongside some of the world’s best minds of today’s game.
This, on the other hand, points to a jam-packed southern-hemisphere winter calendar and a fierce competition for the intense T20 players in the world.
The Big Bash League, Bangladesh Premier League, and the projected new South African league are all set to run during that time frame, with the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League set to begin only days after the ILT20 concludes.
The ILT20 can be expected to attract a fair share of the best players, partly because of its line-up of team owners: Reliance Strategic Business Ventures Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, the owners of Mumbai Indians, GMR Group, co-owners of Delhi Capitals, the Knight Riders [Kolkata and Trinbago] franchise owners, Capri Global, a non-banking financial company based in India, Lancer Capital, owners of Manchester United Football Club, and Adani Sportsline, a sports initiative of the diversified Adani Group.
