Liton moves up in Test rankings with record points

Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Liton Das moves up five spots to 12th on the ICC Test rankings following his impressive series with the bat at home against Sri Lanka.
Another Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim – who became the first Bangladesh batter to score 5000 Test runs during the series - rises eight spots to be joint 17th on the latest update.

The wicketkeeper batter has surpassed Tamim Iqbal with the highest 724 rating points for the country. The left-arm opener, Tamim scored the highest 709 rating points for Bangladesh in 2017.
Bangladesh were slumped to 24-5 during the second Test match against Sri Lanka when Liton added a 272-run partnership with Mushfiqur. He scored 141 and 52 runs in the second Test.
Liton was previously ranked 20th in the ranking, he moved up three places (17th) after notching 88 in Bangladesh's only innings against Sri Lanka in the first Test in Chattogram.
