Bangladesh's fielding coach, Shane McDermott, isn't interested in developing fielders for certain positions since he wants to produce fielders who can play wherever.
After the ICC T20 World Cup, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elected not to renew Ryan Cook's contract, instead opting for locals Mizanur Rahman and Rajin Saleh in the home series against Pakistan and Afghanistan before selecting McDermott, whose contract runs until the end of November 2023.

"I think one of the things is that you don't need specialist fielders. What you need are 11 fielders who can field in all positions. That's again what makes you the best in the world. When you are comparing for instance to Australia, who can have Smith, Maxwell and Stoinis, anyone fielding in any position at any given time, then we have the adaptability to be the best in the world," McDermott said to media on Tuesday.

"So it's about making sure in the modern-day game that the people we know can do the best job are in the best positions. Outside of that, it's about creating the feeling that anyone can be the best fielder in the side on any given day and that's the confidence we're trying to create," he added.
Bangladesh will go to the West Indies in the first week of June for a series that will include two Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and three Twenty20 Internationals.
